We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager!

Role Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager provides support to the Store Manager in driving the business and assumes responsibility for the total store operations in the Manager's absence. They lead by example in supporting an engaged selling culture by providing exceptional customer service and demonstrating salesmanship skills in order to maximize sales in the store. They participate in all day-to-day operations while adhering to all company policies and represent the Madden Way values.
Supporting the Store Manager in developing sales associates by providing product knowledge and selling skills training to new and existing staff. They coach and motivate the team on customer service fundamentals and provides positive feedback. The ideal candidate can assist the Store Manager in the execution of all recruitment activities, and new hire onboarding and training. The Assistant Manager ensures that all associates are trained to maintain brand visual presentations.
The Assistant Manager reports directly to the Store Manager and works closely with the District Manager and the Retail Support team; they participate in all the essential duties, while adhering to all company policies, operation excellence and safety procedures. They collaborate with the Store Manager in areas of loss prevention, ensuring the company controls are followed for store cash (bank deposits, petty cash), and inventory management (stock receiving and shipping, inventory counts).
Qualifications and Capabilities
High school diploma
1+ years of retail management experience is an asset
Strong leadership skills
Customer-focused
Self-motivated
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, delegate and follow up
Computer literate and experience using cash systems
Demonstrate salesmanship skills
Coaching and monitoring ability
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Full-time availability includes working 40 hours per week
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the business
Manual dexterity to perform tasks such as: working on ladders, moving boxes and furniture
Ability to bend and stand for 8+ hour workdays
Compensation
Structure includes base pay, sales commission
