Job description
About this position
SeeScan is looking for a Sales Manager to join our DeepSea oceanographic products team. In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the inside sales department, managing relationships with our worldwide network of representatives, helping the team reach sales goals for our suite of subsea products, and tracking performance and efficiency. You will also gather and prepare data to help the organization make key decisions regarding products, pricing, and resources. You will occasionally travel domestically and internationally to customers and industry events in this role as well.
Our company culture
Working at SeeScan is unlike working for other companies of our size. While we have the stability of a larger company—we’ve been in business for nearly 40 years and sell our products worldwide—the SeeScan environment feels like a smaller, tight-knit community. Absent of typical corporate culture, we care more about what you do than what you are called, and we want you to share our mission of constantly improving the way we do things. We’ll give you the tools and resources you need to succeed, and we want you to show us how it’s done!
What we’re looking for
Across our organization, we’re looking for people who want to solve big challenges to make the world a better place. Whether you’re designing the latest tech, building our products on the production floor, or keeping our business running and profitable, we want people who approach problems with a can-do attitude and who are eager to be part of a team.
Our goal is to create the best products in our industries and continue our trend of sustainable growth – not to line shareholders’ pockets. That means we’re interested in hiring people who are eager to work somewhere long-term and who share our values of continuous learning, community, and fairness.
In this position, you will
- Manage and oversee the work of inside sales representatives team
- Coach, train, evaluate and monitor sales representatives performance
- Manage and support our global network of independent outside sales representatives communicating goals and monitoring performance
- Set and track sales targets and KPIs, including quote response times and answers to customer questions
- Coordinate sales projects to meet deadlines
- Perform sales analysis and prepare reports for upper management to make data-backed decisions regarding pricing, product improvement, and resource allocation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
About you
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a knack for working with data
- Proficient using office productivity tools including MS Excel
- In-depth understanding of the sales process
- Driven and ambitious with a strong desire to succeed
- Collaborative definition of success that drives growth and continuous improvement
- Relentless and authentic curiosity
Desired education and experience
- Degree in Sales, Business Administration or similar relevant field
- Previous experience in inside sales, preferably in a leadership capacity
- Experience with ERP systems, CRM, and Power BI tools
We offer
- A position within an established company, growing from humble beginnings in our founder’s garage to a team of over 300
