TC Controls and Service’s is searching for a Sales Estimator/Engineer experienced in Building Management Systems (BMS) to join our North Oxford, MA based team! This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a growing company who has positioned itself as a leader in the critical and AG space, providing BMS solutions within building controls, pharma, and agriculture.

Are you the ideal candidate?

The Sales Estimator/Engineer will be an integral part of organizing sales activities. The ideal candidate will work directly within the estimating group to ensure that all administrative and support functions of the estimating department are operating effectively and that active client files are available to the sales group. Must also be technically competent in latest Building Automation technology.

How will you be successful in this role?

Apart from the scope listed above, the Sales Estimator/Engineer will be a main point of reference for colleagues and customers alike, you will do this by keeping schedules and providing feedback, along with documentation and information. You must be able to analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates according to the customer’s needs. Prepare estimates with a clear design in mind to reach the customers end goal. Responsible for attending pre-bid and post bid meetings with and/or without account managers, sales staff, as required to clearly access, and communicate project requirements and customer expectations.
Follow up with stakeholder post-bid to obtain results and/or pertinent bid information.

WORK TO THE HIGHEST STANDARD

Additional duties include:

  • Maintain Estimate Log and provides weekly updates for Team Leader.
  • Open to having work checked as well as helping to check the work of others.
  • Conduct site visits with or without a salesperson to determine field conditions.
  • Prepare pre-design estimates with a design with the end in mind mentality.
  • Maintain competitive advantage by staying current with company estimating tools.
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently, meeting required deadlines for all.
  • Document work by maintaining files for each job.
  • Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects.
  • Responsible for the take-off and pricing of controls materials to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
  • Perform preliminary engineering.

What we would love to see:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred).
  • 3-5 years’ experience within the Building Automation industry (preferred).
  • Ability to review specifications and blueprints (required).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in generation of scope proposals based on estimates (preferred).
  • Experience with estimation or installation of DDC controls (required).
  • Experience with Johnson Controls Facility Explorer, Tridium Niagara (preferred)
  • Experience with HubSpot (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
