ASSISTANT SAFETY SUPERVISOR
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Conduct safety audits.
2. Conduct safety investigations.
3. Conduct required safety training and hazmat training.
4. Create and maintain safety attitude within all departments in the plant.
5. Creates and maintains written safety programs for OSHA regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor degree in a safety related program.
2. Two plus years industrial experience in professional safety/loss control.
3. Excellent written and communication skills required.
4. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA and applicable regulatory agencies.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

1. Sitting required for long periods of time to perform desk activities such as writing, typing, reading, interviewing, etc.
2. Walking is required to get around Coke Plant, to other buildings, other offices, to get to various places within work area, etc.
3. Climb stairs to enter some buildings, or when away from the office at conferences, etc.
4. Balancing required while on steps.

5. Stooping may be required for accessing low filing cabinets to obtain files and other records.
6. Overhead reach required to obtain records/files from upper shelves and the top drawers of filing cabinets.
7. Bended reach required to access equipment
8. Handling required for digital phone, writing, keyboard, calculator, etc.
9. Use of fingers required for digital phone, writing, keyboard, calculator, etc.
10. Talking required on phone, in meetings, person-to-person conversation, etc.
11. Seeing required to perform work accurately, for calculator use, filing, using keyboard, etc.
12. Hearing required for telephone, meetings, person-to-person conversations, etc.
13. Lifting and carrying required for objects that usually weigh 10lbs or less: May require need to lift and carry items weighing more.
Job Type: Full-time
