Your day.

As a Safety Attendant you need to know how to:

• Observes patient behavior and maintains patient safety.
• Maintains an uninterrupted line of sight with the patient and will be required to assist
  the patient in completion of daily personal care.
• Reports any and all activity outside of established parameters to the Nurse Manager,
  Professional Registered Nurse, or delegated Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Obtain report from the assigned nurse or from the current sitter. Remain with the
  patient until relieved for breaks, meals and shift change.
• Accompany patient to other departments when patient is scheduled for
  tests/treatments.
• Notify the patient’s assigned nurse of any change in patient’s mental status or
  condition immediately. Notify the nurse of any safety concerns.
• Orientate patient on use of call bell, bed controls, phone, lights and bathroom.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior
  standards.

Your experience.

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)
  certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
• One year experience in a health care setting is preferred.
