Job description

MASE is currently seeking a Safety Officer for an HVAC Construction Project in Puerto Rico. The successful candidate will have experience with construction projects, and compliance and will be responsible for functions assigned to him/her under the supervision of the Program Manager.

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

• At least 10 years of experience working as a safety officer in construction projects or 5-year experience with a college education
• At least 40 hours of continuing education on OSHA
• OSHA 30 hours training certification in the construction industry
• Fluent English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills
• Having 24 hours of documented formal or online safety and health-related coursework in the past two years
• Proficiency in the use of software appropriate to this position, including Microsoft Excel & Teams.
• CPR Certification

The ideal candidate will also have experience:

• Developing, monitoring, and implementing health and safety policies to ensure that programs follow health and safety laws and regulations.
• Creating processes to reduce or prevent hazards, dangers, and accidents.
• Conducting spot inspections at projects to identify potential hazards, assess their risk, report on them, and enforce compliance with policies and regulations.

Education:

Bachelor or higher degree or relevance experience

• Must be motivated and results-oriented
