Safe Alliance - Part-time Porter
The Part-Time Day Porter supports the agency by providing hope and healing to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, child abuse and emotional trauma by providing maintenance and cleaning services of the shelter.
Pay: $17.00/hour
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Client Care
Using trauma-informed, client-centered approach:
- Perform a variety of cleaning duties as assigned included but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, sanitizing, trash disposal, and window cleaning.
- Inspect all assigned areas daily, report all cleaning discrepancies to manager.
- Ensure that the property maintains an exceptional curb appeal by keeping the community grounds and building clean and properly maintained.
- Clean units in a timely manner, so they are ready for new clients to move in.
- Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings and development activities as directed.
- Perform other duties as directed by Shelter Operation Manager.
Administration
- Maintain accurate records
- Keep client and staff work spaces clean and functioning
- Maintain up to date inventory of needed supplies for staff and clients.
- Adhere to agency procedures concerning Documentation, Critical Incident Reports and Client Satisfaction surveys and participate in the Quality Assurance process.
- Verify and print timecard in a timely manner.
Stewardship
- Support agency mission by participating in agency meetings and committees as requested by supervisor.
- Promotes and maintains professional relationships with agency staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Professional Development
- Maintain and develop skills and knowledge by attending training and ensuring licensure and certifications are up to date needed for the job.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Safe Alliance may still be subject to government mandated vaccine requirements and testing as outlined by the OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard. All applicants must be willing to submit proof of vaccination status or test weekly.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 2 years porter/housekeeping.
- Basic skills and knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools necessary for the housekeeping of the building.
- Knowledge of janitorial supplies and cleaning.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
