Business Need / Purpose of Role:
The Rubber Shop Worker will be stripping rubber on parts sent to us from customers and clients for maintenance and repair. They will be responsible for the removal of old rubber from metal parts and cleaning the steel in preparation for it’s next stage.
Objectives & Measurement
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
- Perform rubber stripping (removal of old rubber from metal parts)
- Load and unload ovens/autoclaves
- Maintain a clean working area and ensure shared oven areas are kept tidy
- Assist Sand Blaster with getting parts ready for blasting
- Assist painter with prepared parts for painting
- Clean out blasted parts and coat them with primer
- Ability to work with hand tools such as drills, saws, hot knives, roller & stitchers, hand knives, etc.
- Ability to work with chemicals such as adhesives, paints, toluene, etc.
- Maintain a keen eye for cosmetics and quality

Education and/or Experience:
- Ability to use and read a tape measurer
- Experience reading technical drawings preferred
- Willing to work overtime and weekends
- Forklift driving Experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Individual must pass a Respiratory evaluation and fit test for a respirator mask along with the rest of the screening process.
