The Best Western Corte Madera Inn has an immediate need for a flexible person who will work both Laundry and clean guest rooms, as a Room Attendant, must be available on weekends and holidays.

The cleanliness of the hotel, linens and guestrooms is a key to meeting our hotel quality and guest standards. Thus, attention to every job detail is very important to the success of the hotel and achieving and exceeding job performance requirements. The Room Attendant cleans guest rooms by stripping beds and bathroom of dirty linen, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing bathroom, remaking bed, replacing towels, bathmat and shower curtain, and replacing all amenities, etc. The Room Attendant reports anything in the guest room that needs repair and/or replacement. The Room Attendant is helpful and friendly to guests. The Room Attendant reports any found item left by guest to Executive Housekeeper or front desk as soon as found.

The Laundry Attendant job relates to work primarily located in the hotel laundry area. This work is to load dirty linen and run washers, load and run dryers, and to fold dry clean linen, organize, sort and store linen in the laundry room, storage closets and on housekeeper supply carts. This work will regularly include working on the guest floors stripping dirty vacant rooms of all linens, pre-spotting linens while soil is visible and returning these linens to the laundry room. On occasion this job will perform work cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and trash collection in various public areas in the hotel and laundry.

This position is required to work weekends and holidays during your regular scheduled days.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to arrive to work on time when scheduled.
• Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles.
• Must be able to communicate and understand supervisor and coworkers in English.
• Must be able to read and identify correct product labels for the correct purpose and machines.
• Basic knowledge of general laundry cleaning principles, use of laundry products and operation of standard laundry room equipment – washers and dryers.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position: constantly stand and walk up to 6-8 hours a day; climb stairs; repetitive and constant grasping/gripping, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; and frequent stoop, kneel, and bend up to 5-7 hours a day; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or squat up to 2 hours a day, ability to lift, carry and move constantly 11 to 29 pounds, frequently 30 – 49 pounds, and occasionally 50 -75 pounds, push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 150 lbs. intermittently (2-3 hours a day).
• Vision requirements: must be able to constantly (6-8 hours a day) need to see small details (close vision) and things clearly beyond arms’ reach (distance vision), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Hearing requirements: must be able to constantly (6-8 hours a day) hear and talk.
• Must be able to keep up with the demands of the department.
