Job description
Kootenai Health is looking for Nurses who are passionate about the Operating Room to join our upcoming Perioperative 101 Program! Now accepting applications for 2023 cohorts!
Kootenai Health invests in both experienced and non-experienced nurses by including training for the scrub role in orientation. Nurses new to the operating room enjoy a six-month AORN Periop 101 cohort training period to ensure a strong foundation for both circulating and scrubbing. Areas for further advancement include Resource Specialist, Clinical Coordinator, and CVOR/Vascular roles.
Kootenai Health’s mission is to serve its community by keeping Idaho patients in Idaho. By increasing services offered in conjunction with the population growth in Kootenai County, surgical volumes have grown year over year and this growth is anticipated to continue. As a Level II Trauma Center, the staff is on-site 24/7 which allows for shifts that will fit most any work-life balance need. With the continued increase in complexity of the procedures supported, the department is moving towards a staffing model that supports a 3:1 ratio between staff and operating rooms. This increase in staffing numbers will decrease the burden of call, provide the ability to focus on a particular specialty, and serve in the first assist role if you are certified. Kootenai Health offers a modern, state-of-the-art facility that supports a wide range of surgical specialties. Our facility recently expanded to increase our number of operating rooms to eleven (11) – 2 CVORS, 1 hybrid OR, and 8 general operating rooms. We utilize the da Vinci® System for our robotic program that supports procedures in urology, thoracic, general, and gynecology specialties with two Xi platforms.
