Job description

Employee is responsible for performing speech therapy for children in the Rural Infant Services Program. Employee is responsible for assessing normal and abnormal speech , language, and oral motor development of infants and toddlers with, or at risk for, developmental delays. Employee is responsible for providing direct service to children and training caregivers in therapeutic techniques and exercises within their natural environment, such as their home, day care setting, etc. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, children, families, public, and service providers. Reports to the RISP Director.

Employee must have Master’s Degree in Speech Therapy and minimum of 1-2 years experience in provision of pediatric speech therapy. Must possess Virginia Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP or CCC-A). Must possess certification in First Aid and Child and Infant CPR.

Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License, with acceptable driving record. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment, and yearly thereafter as required by licensing authority.
Must be willing to complete criminal background check, drug test, and provide a copy of COVID vaccination card.
