Risk Management Data Manager

Job Summary:
The Data Manager will serve as database administrator and super-user for each module within the Risk Management Information System and work closely with front line staff and leaders who utilize the system in order to obtain maximum benefit from the tools provided. Responsible for training users on the Incident Response System and the health systems' policies and procedures in support of incident management. Seeks to identify and provide data and reports that assist in optimizing clinical care and efficient operational performance. The position will have direct data management, analysis, and reporting responsibilities within the associated departments with the goal of supporting each area to perform at the highest level in an economically sound and efficient manner.
Duties:
· Utilizes patient safety event data to drive improvement, achieve and sustain a culture of safety and provide support for Root Cause Analysis module.
· Utilizes employee injury data to drive improvement in processes.
· Collaborates with Safety Specialist developing, achieving, and sustaining safety programs to reduce workers compensation cost by reviewing and preparing data analysis.
· Provides reports and pertinent data to improve patient experience of care.
· Supports the data needs across the system to improve the culture of safety, encourage event reporting, and ultimately improve clinical systems and practice.
· Reviews systems and processes to improve workflow, data access and reports for Claims and Workman’s Compensation programs.
· Sits on various committees in support of patient safety across the enterprise.
· Acts as the liaison between vendor/systems and PMH teams on open projects, acting as the point person, as needed. Collaborates with departments/leaders on enterprise projects and updates on systems.
· Creates and/or presents reports, as needed.
· Services the entire country on their Incident Reporting needs.
· Reviews all incident/events reported for accuracy. Re-routes if necessary, recategorizes, and alerts senior leaders to events that are occurring in the facilities daily.
· Performs all changes/updates to the Incident Reporting systems, working in many environments (test, train, production) to confirm changes are functioning as intended.
· Develops all literature and training materials for the system. Chairs the Incident Reporting Governance Committee.

Education/Experience:
· Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience
*RLDatix RL6 or RL Solutions Experience required
· Minimum 3-5 years of hospital/healthcare data measurement and analytical experience. Familiarity with processes for Quality, Patient Safety, and Patient Satisfaction, Claims and Risk Management and Workers Comp experienced desired
· Working knowledge of database mining and creation of reports, as well as organization of systems
· Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, clinical diagnosis, and procedures. Demonstrates expertise in the areas of healthcare analytics, statistical analysis, research or other key aspects in the healthcare setting.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access, as well as clinical outcomes software, report writing tools.
· Works independently yet collaboratively with PMH leadership.
· Builds strong, effective relationships internally throughout the enterprise and externally as needed to support the company’s business activities.
· Has the ability to prepare and professionally present materials and programs to a diverse audience.
· Proficient in the use of Excel including data analysis and use of Macros
· Able to analyze large data sets and convert them into useful information.
· Knowledge and ability to test validity and reliability of data.
· Able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,000.00 - $91,650.00 per year
