Manager, Strategy and Analytics

JOB PURPOSE:

The Manager of Risk Analytics focuses on delivering analysis and reporting in a timely and pragmatic fashion to key stakeholders throughout the enterprise. The role primarily supports the Chief Risk Office but also entails cross functional involvement with Finance, Underwriting, and Operations in order to cultivate holistic solutions. The primary focus is to equip the Chief Risk Officer and other executive stakeholders with critical insights necessary to manage and optimize Rent-A-Center's overall risk profile and strategy. The manager will be responsible for querying data across various legacy databases, developing key dashboards and metrics to provide visibility, and developing models and insights to mitigate risk factors and drive overall profitability. The role will report directly to the Director of Strategy and Analytics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive comprehensive, deep dive analytics to identify underlying risk factors impacting the performance and profitability of the enterprise portfolio.
• Develop comprehensive reporting to provide visibility over critical risk factors and metrics in effective and consistent formats.
• Evaluate product offerings and channels to identify risk areas and distill underlying questions to be addressed to mitigate undue risk
• Research and develop deep knowledge base across various departments to drive trust and gain understanding of distinct objectives and perspectives across the organization.
• Structure and conduct deep dive analyses to pinpoint areas of opportunity leveraging statistical techniques.
• Serve as a business expert across departments to align individual goals with high level initiatives to gain synergies and minimize internal friction
• Establish, build, and maintain solid business partner relationships across the organization, driving cross functional collaboration and efficiency
• Develop processes and frameworks to improve sustainability and efficiency across the CRO organization

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., business, statistics, finance, economics), MBA or Masters preferred
• Minimum 5 years professional experience, with one or more years of risk management, strategy/strategic planning, or analytics experience preferred
• Ability to develop and employ frameworks and business assessment tools to solve/simplify complex and unstructured business problems
• Solid project planning and execution expertise (e.g., the ability to define a project, develop appropriate work plans and drive to completion autonomously)
• Superior analytical and quantitative skills, particularly as they relate to operations and risk management
• Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with proven ability to multi-task
• Self-motivated, independent and resourceful
• Capable of being objective and giving/taking constructive feedback
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, SQL, and Python preferred
