Description

This position is a full time position, while under limited supervision, achieves the sales goals of the business unit through planning, coordinating and directing all operations of the Satellite Rigging Location. This position will actively grow the rigging sales and profitability through customer interaction, effective allocation of workload along with store and wholesale associate awareness and training, all while understanding and following all company goals, mission statement and core values. They will interpret diagrams, measurements and interact with rigging customers to complete rigging order requests. They will coordinate workflow to best utilize the resources by assessing the lead time and type of work to determine if a job should be completed in house or by the production facility. They will ensure that all products are inspected for quality and signed off before delivered to customer. They will perform related work as required. This position reports to the Store Manager.

Job Responsibilities

Recommends and sells the proper products to ensure complete rigging solutions for retail and wholesale customers.

Manage people, production and the scheduling of outside work.

Works closely with store group to increase the awareness and training associates on rigging offerings and process for placing rigging orders.

Ensures that all products produced and sold through Rigging Services are inspected for quality and will perform to the application that it is being built to.

Continues to improve product knowledge through training, product education and certification.

Uses discretion in handling customer complaints.

Work with associates to achieve business units sales plan.

Maintains a clean and safe working environment.

Support all sustainability efforts throughout West Marine

Job Requirements

Must be able to interpret rigging diagrams, rigging measurement and rigging terminology to assist customers and coordinate workflow.

Demonstrates advanced technical skills in Splicing and installation rigging duties in shop as well as on marine vessels.

Must be able to provide transportation to worksites.

Must understand the proper ways to go aloft and be able to execute.

Must be able to lift fifty pounds to shoulder height unassisted.

Must be able to bend, stoop and crawl.
