This is a 20 hour per week position.Serves as a member of the revenue management team responsible for leading and/or supporting revenue improvement projects that will improve financial performance and support the long-term success of Holy Cross Health. Project focus will be targeted at evaluating payer reimbursement/requirements and their impact on new service line implementations, optimizing payer reimbursement for existing service lines, minimizing/eliminating payer denials and administrative burdens, and educating leadership and Trinity Health System Office colleagues about payer policies and procedures that have a direct impact on operations and Maryland’s financial performance.
Serves as a Holy Cross liaison on select Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) and/or Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) committees, and lobbies for support with Maryland payers regarding issues that could result in a loss of resources/revenue to Holy Cross Health. Reviews government and commercial payer communications and provides education to revenue cycle areas that may be impacted by policies or procedures announced therein. Researches, communicates, and provides further education regarding proposed and pending Federal and State legislation relevant to Maryland revenue cycle operations and the administration of payer policies and procedures. Serves as a Holy Cross representative on payer-led committees as needed and requested.
Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline. Master’s or JD Degree preferred.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Ten or more years of progressive healthcare experience, a significant portion of which should include working in payer contracting, managed care, and/or revenue cycle processes.
- Must demonstrate understanding of the healthcare landscape in Maryland, including HSCRC regulations.
- Must possess strong relationship-building skills with payers, peers, associations, and leadership.
- Must demonstrate strong project leadership, organization, integration and execution skills and abilities. Reasonable experience in planning, formulating, and executing strategies.
- Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, in addition to presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read and understand State and National Government Proposed Rules, and to analyze and present findings to leadership.
- Must possess analytical skills and sound judgment.
- Must be able to work independently, and to collaborate with groups electronically.
Working Conditions:
- Visual acuity and coordination including finger dexterity for frequent and prolonged use of the computer
- Must be able to manage multiple workplace demands, adapt to frequently changing priorities, and set realistic and obtainable priorities related to such
- May be required to vary hours, days, and work schedules to accommodate the needs of the organization
- Must often convey detailed, important spoken instructions to others accurately and quickly
- Must have ability to receive and understand detailed critical information through oral and/or written communication
- Position can work 100% remotely
