SUMMARY OF JOB:

Responsible for resolving NCCI, MUE, SSI and other billing edits to expedite clean claims submission to payers. Work closely with clinical/ancillary hospital departments to ensure compliance with government, payer, and internal charge capture policies. Provide correct coding education to all clinical/ancillary departments.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in a hospital setting, clinic setting, or other revenue cycle company
• RHIT/RHIA, CCS, CMA, CPC, or other coding/auditing certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10, CPT, and HCPC coding
• Experience with electronic health records
• Prior experience working NCCI, MUE, SSI and charge error billing edits
• Knowledge of third party payer contracting language and reimbursement terms
• Familiar with multiple (widely used) healthcare patient accounting/billing systems
• Proficiency with Excel, MS Office Suite, Internet Explorer, and Database Management application software
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and Charge Description Master
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
• Strong organizational and time management skills
