The Revenue Cycle Audit Specialist impacts the institution’s ability to maximize appropriate third-party reimbursement opportunities and interacts, communicates, and coordinates efforts related to reimbursement and reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Performs extensive analyses facilitating accurate and compliant reporting related to reimbursement and uncompensated care.
- Prepares and analyzes data to validate and test new techniques of cost finding. Manages data in an efficient manner and provides analytics as related to tracking government audits. Provides executive reports providing the current state of organizational audits.
- Explores federal, state, and voluntary regulatory standards for Medicare and Medicaid and creates educational materials. Communicates findings appropriate and assists with the implementation of new state and federal government requirements.
- Oversees projects and audits involving contracted payors. Monitors audited accounts to ensure financial resolutions related to government-mandated actions.
- Interprets audit findings and assertions and collaborates to author responses or draft appeals, providing complex interpretation of regulation as it applies to the respective claim and medical record.
- Assists with monthly reporting related to monthly and end-of-year close process. Assists with other quality improvement projects by collecting and or presenting data for other areas of the revenue cycle as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor of Business with concentrated study in accounting, economics, or finance preferred.
Experience:
- Excellent personal, computing, analytical, and organizational skills. Specific experience or interest in the development of detailed, activity-based cost information.
- Highly motivated, flexible, and interested in working in a dynamic organization.
- Ability to work independently, often with little direction.
- Expertise in financial analysis and trending reports.
- Strong professional demeanor with the inherent quality to rapidly establish credibility and rapport with clinicians, managers, and external groups.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in medical accounts receivable financial management, preferred.
- QL or Python, Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel experience, preferred.
