Venesco, LLC is hiring a Certified Respiratory Therapist to provide services in support of the Post-Deployment Lung Disease Study in Department of Pulmonary/Sleep and Critical Care Medicine & shall support the Department of Pediatrics at Walter Reed National Military Center located in Bethesda, MD.

Certified Respiratory Therapist will work dayshift Monday through Friday.* This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who serve our country!*

Duties include:

 Set up and monitor a variety of complex respiratory equipment.

 Assess the cardiopulmonary condition of assigned patients using data acquired through physical examination and respiratory monitoring and diagnostic equipment.)

 Draw arterial, venous and mixed venous blood samples.

 Perform airway and tube care on intensive care patients.

 Based on patient assessment and analysis of blood gas data, independently make adjustment to ventilator settings. Determine the effectiveness and/or need for change in the therapy being administered.

 Monitor and interpret values such as pulmonary artery pressure, pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, mixed venous oxygen content, and cardiac output for the purpose of reporting patient status and making a recommendation to physicians regarding treatment.

 During emergency situations be part of the crash team. Will be able to independently insert artificial airway into patient's trachea to provide controlled breathing.

Qualifications:

1. Degree/Education: Graduation from associate degree from a respiratory therapist which is certified by Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

2. Certifications: Basic Life Support and Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRT) is required but Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is desirable.

3. Experience: At least ten (10) years of general pediatric clinical experience with emphasis as a Certified Pediatric Respiratory Therapist.

4. Licensure: Possess a current, valid and unrestricted license to practice as a DC in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
