This may involve promoting social skills throughmentoring in community services activities, cooking, sports, adventure based activities, job search and job support.Residential Support Staff will be responsible, emotionally mature people of good character as exemplified by pastperformance and general reputation.The position requires using experiential and adventure based training and activities that will provide opportunitiesfor youth to make positive choices, gain self-confidence and learn skills that are critical to their lifelongdevelopment.The position of Residential Support Staff will cover a variety of shifts and schedules according to client andprogram needs.Tasks: Participate as part of an interdisciplinary team in the formulation and design of each clients treatment plan * To provide written input concerning each clients progress as requested * To provide verbal input regarding the implementation of each clients treatment plan at team meetings * To be responsible for implementation of each clients treatment plan and short term needs. * Complete the daily log, individual logs, serious incident reports, medication records, cash accounts, and other forms of documentation according to individual program, policy, and proceduresHelp clients cultivate appropriate social, behavioral, and interpersonal skills and attitudes necessary tocommunity living * To set and enforce behavioral limits for the clients * To guide and instruct the clients in the development of problem solving skills * To understand and implement agency guidelines regarding behavior management techniques including physical restraintAdventure Base Activities: * Assist with the planning and organization of adventure experience trips and activities. Facilitate adventure based activities as directed; * Actively participate in adventure experiences; * Provide encouragement and supports to clients participating in activities; * Debrief adventure experiences; * Routinely inventory and monitor safety equipment used by students and staff, immediately reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
