This is a part time position, slated to work approx. 20 hours a week.:What does the Resident Wellness Coach/Group Exercise Instructor do?
The Resident Wellness Coach is responsible for all facets of the resident health and wellness programs at their location such as the supervision and direct involvement of group exercise classes, wellness appointments and programs, active adult programs, and personal training.

- Oversees planning, development, and delivery of resident health and wellness programs. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and makes adjustments as needed.
- Ensures that schedules for programs and activities are planned and communicated in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensures team members develop ongoing relationships with residents to increase retention and participation in programing and activities.
- Works to ensure a risk-free environment by promoting safe practices and conditions. Reports accidents and injuries and completes resident incident reports.
- Partners with health services, residents, and family members to create a person-centered care plan specific to the residents needs and wellness goals.
- Conducts one on one personalized training to assist residents in improving and maintaining their physical wellbeing.
- Oversees tracking and reporting of resident health and progress.
- Develops and implements goals and outcome measurements to establish effectiveness of Prestige’s Wellness program.
- Partners with all community departments to ensure residents needs are met in a holistic manner. Maintains a high level of communication between departments.
- Maintains professional knowledge of industry trends and best practices through continuing professional education, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Three (3) years of experience in fitness industry/allied health profession, health management, strength and conditioning, and/or personal/athletic training required. Ability to empower and encourage residents. Experience in senior living and working with disabled individuals preferred. Certification as a Personal Trainer required (ACE, NASM, PTAC, ISSA, ACSM, or NSCA certifications).
- Bachelors’ degree in exercise science, recreation management, kinesiology, personal training, or similar health field of study preferred, or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
