Galloway Ridge, an upscale retirement community in Chatham County, NC is currently seeking a full time Resident Enrichment Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for creating, developing, and implementing programs and events for residents of the Arbor, while supporting the direction set forth by the Director of Resident Enrichment. Must be comfortable in the Healthcare setting, working directly with residents within the Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care neighborhoods of the Arbor, shaping offerings appropriate and of interest to the resident population.

It is important to be an effective communicator - stimulating and motivating residents, volunteers and staff, while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns. Always be genuinely interested in the business, agenda and needs of others, including the company, its management, the team and the company’s customers, our residents. Having a faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position, including daily, monthly, and quarterly planning and executing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Plan, develop, and implement a broad spectrum of programs, designed with specific outcomes and goals.
• Foster optimal communication to ensure programs run smoothly. Work closely with Communications, Resident Services, and other members of the Life Enrichment team for marketing, room set up, reservations, and transportation needs.
• Cross train with other Resident Enrichment team members to cover programs/duties in their absence.
• Collect necessary class attendance information to assist with needed data.
• Promote programs in person to residents to encourage attendance. Engage with residents whenever able to build professional, but meaningful, relationships.
• Keep abreast of current national wellness and resident programming initiatives, activities, and trends and develop a network of resources/contacts to improve efforts and share best practices.
• Any additional tasks needed to fulfill the work of the Resident Enrichment Department.
• Some weekend and evening hours may be required.

• Must have experience and interest in the active aging population, with program development/implementation and events preferred.
• Must possess positive energy, patience, a sense of imagination and creativity.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Experience and interest in leading exercise programs (yoga, tai chi, group exercise, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of audiovisual equipment.
• Must function well within a team environment and also produce independently of others.
• Certification in Activity Programming/Recreational Therapy or previous experience preferred.
