Position Summary

The Division of Developmental Neuroscience, Department of Psychiatry seeks a Research Worker who will report primarily to Dr. William Fifer, Chief of the Division of Developmental Neuroscience. The candidate will assist in managing fetal/infant/child physiological and behavioral data in support of research on pre and postnatal experience and neurodevelopmental outcomes. The Research Worker's primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain data management infrastructure for analysis and reporting to Dr. Fifer's various projects. The researcher will collaborate with research assistants and scientists within the division. Additionally, the Research Worker will attend meetings as applicable to the projects that s/he is involved with.

This is a temporary, Full-Time position for 1 year and can be extended depending on funding support and after a performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain current and future databases according to project needs, and provide oversight for integrating new procedures and/or guidelines to current and future databases.
  • Provide quality control and process data at multiple time scales.
  • Assist with and review presentations, manuscript, tables and graphs for accuracy and quality.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for handling data.
  • Assist in meeting project milestones and timelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree and at least one year experience, or Bachelor's degree and at least three years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with one or more statistical programs including MATLAB, R, and/or SAS Software is
    highly preferred.
  • Experience with EGI NetStation software is highly preferred

Other Requirements

  • Must successfully complete online systems training requirements
  • Experience handling longitudinal datasets required.
  • Experience with maternal/fetal and infant research required.
  • Proficiency with database software Microsoft SQL/My SQL, and Microsoft access is required
  • Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, able to work with minimal supervision, and have excellent
    interpersonal skills.
