Clinical Research Coordinator
Maryland Treatment Centers (Baltimore, MD) is seeking a full time Research Coordinator for an innovative NIH-funded clinical research project investigating a new behavioral intervention for opioid use disorder. The primary research project associated with this position seeks to establish and test a new approach to maximizing medication adherence and treatment engagement for individuals with opioid use disorder. The intervention is delivered by peer support specialists.
MTC is an established regional behavioral health provider focused on clinical excellence, innovation, and scholarship. We offer a full continuum for the treatment of addictions and co-occurring disorders with a special focus on opioid use disorder. Located in West Baltimore at 3800 Frederick Avenue. In addition to our primary clinical operations, we have an enthusiastic and growing research team with a 20-year legacy of conducting clinical research on addictions and co-occurring disorders. Collaborators have included investigators from Friends Research Institute, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and Dartmouth College. We have also conducted trials with partners at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) through the Clinical Trials Network (CTN).
Responsibilities include:
- Coordination of and participation in all aspects of the research process for the project including:
- Recruitment efforts such as advertising, networking with local recovery residences, and collaborating with stakeholders at MTC
- Interfacing and collaborating with existing clinical teams at the study site within a complex community addictions treatment setting
- Pre-screening and Screening of potential participants
- Conducting Informed Consent/Participant enrollment
- Participant tracking throughout the study
- Data collection
- Data entry, maintenance, and quality assurance
- Maintenance of regulatory documentation and records
- Ordering and maintenance of study supplies
- Opportunities for data analysis and interpretation
- Opportunities to participate in teaching and dissemination
- Supervision of study staff including research assistants and peer support specialist(s)
- Travel to other study sites in order to perform job functions
- Interfacing and collaborating with other members of the MTC research team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, or a related scientific field required
- One year of experience in managing clinical trials research required
- Master’s degree in psychology, public health, or a related scientific field preferred
- Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication
- Clinical experience, interest, and licensure (e.g., LCPC, LCSW) preferred
- Experience working in behavioral health, and especially addiction-related settings preferred
