The University of Utah’s Energy & Geoscience Institute invites applications for an open position in Research Geologist in the areas of sedimentology and sequence/seismic stratigraphy. We are particularly looking for a Ph.D. geologist with subsurface research, well logging, and basin analysis experiences. The position is initially anticipated for two years; it will be renewable with promotion based on performance and availability of funded projects.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Record of relevant research as demonstrated by journal publications, conference presentations, and external funding.

Earned PhD at time of hire

Preferences
Experience with geologic mapping, interpretation, database and software packages.
Excellent writing, communication, and team-working skills.
