Job description

Looking for a professional individual who is self-motivated and possess excellent customer service skills. We are looking for an individual who genuinely cares and commits to the highest confidentiality standards. This position is responsible for accurately collecting and delivering requested medical information regardless of media type, for all request types, by adhering to all federal and state laws in accordance with HIPAA Authorization and Guidelines.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Receives written requests for medical information and determine if request is valid and process all valid requests to completion
  • Responds to telephone inquiries regarding status of requests and how to obtain medical information
  • Operates and troubleshoots standard office equipment
  • Retrieves Medical Records by utilizing EMR systems
  • Reproduces and releases PHI using a variety of technologies, including printers, fax, and upload to Electronic Repositories
  • Fulfills ROI request by organizing and completing work within the given deadlines established in the contracted service agreements with the customer
  • Responds to high volume of telephone inquiries regarding status of request and how to obtain medical information
  • Performs support functions to maintain a smooth workflow and other duties, as assigned
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patients, client, and facility information always

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Release of Information experience in a hospital –minimum 1 year
  • Prior EMR experience, EPIC preferably
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Strong Adobe Acrobat/ Nuance software experience – general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Computer knowledge is a must
  • Problem solving skills and strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Work well under time constraints and productivity requirements
  • Willing to follow established procedures yet, be creative to offer suggestions for improvements
  • Strong customer service background, in person or over the phone
  • Detail oriented work style
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team
  • Motivated by accountability to productivity, accuracy, and timeliness measurements
  • Always maintain strict company confidentiality and security
  • Dependable transportation
  • Experience in high volume and fast paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

  • 8:00 am-4:30 pm
  • Monday- Friday

Position is onsite in a Healthcare facility.
