As a Barclays Relationship Manager you will retain, grow, and maximise revenue opportunities within our managed client base. Some of your responsibilities will include expansion and cross selling of Barclaycard Payments products and service solutions within a portfolio of existing customers. You will have frequent contact with external key stakeholders within a defined customer managed portfolio and with new prospect customers at different levels and across a range of industry sectors.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Establishing, building and maintaining on going stakeholder relationships at a variety of levels with clients to retain, grow and protect business income
  • Using consultative selling techniques, adhering to Barclaycard’s PROUD methodology to achieve demanding revenue targets and maintain BCP profitability
  • Leading and managing customer contracts and rebates; ensuring timely engagement with internal pricing and finance teams
  • Seeking and requesting product information and updates, and providing robust feedback on products to the relevant team
  • Managing multiple stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally throughout the sales cycle through to successful closure of all deals
  • Adhering to Barclaycard’s PROUD methodology to achieve demanding revenue targets and maintain BCP’s profitability
  • Creating and supporting key business initiatives and developments
  • Facilitating discussions and negotiations with clients on commercial, operational, technical, marketing, industry and management information issues & proposals
What we’re looking for:
• Experience of successfully identifying, driving, managing and closing deals within existing client base.
  • Excellent proven track record of overachieving against stretching targets
  • Expert in personal impact with the ability to build successful long term relationships at senior level with key decision makers


Skills that will help you in the role:
• Working knowledge of issuing, acquiring and gateway products and services
  • Working knowledge of the card schemes, their drivers, industry dynamics, interchange and future product service deliverables
  • An up-to-date knowledge of the payments industry
