Job summary
Amazon Pharmacy’s Ethics and Compliance team is seeking an experienced compliance professional to manage the Regulatory Change Management (“RCM”) process to help ensure compliance with new or changed laws or regulations. This individual will have the opportunity to design, develop, implement and manage an enhanced RCM process. Amazon pharmacy will rely on this individual to stay informed on relevant laws and regulations, understand how they apply to the Amazon Pharmacy business and hold teams accountable for implementing changes accordingly.

A successful candidate in this role will be a self-starter who is passionate about healthcare compliance and building out this function. This person should also be able to earn trust and effectively collaborate with external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory agencies) as well as internal stakeholders (e.g., pharmacy operations, legal). They must have strong communication skills (written and verbal) to drive awareness and understanding of new or changed laws or regulations. This individual will desire to learn the current business operations and develop mechanisms to stay aware of business changes that may involve new legal and regulatory requirements. This individual must be able to think big and be creative to deliver results; work both independently and collaboratively. This person will be expected to consistently raise the high bar of compliance and operational excellence as we rapidly grow, scale, and innovate to make Amazon Pharmacy the most customer-centric pharmacy on Earth.

Key job responsibilities
Perform research and monitor pharmacy regulatory agencies for relevant changes to laws and regulations applicable to Amazon Pharmacy.
Seek to build relationships with regulatory agencies and stay abreast of industry trends impacting the regulatory landscape.
Develop a thorough understanding of the meaning, intent, timing, and nuances of regulatory changes to be able to explain them to the business.
Consult with legal to obtain interpretations of regulatory requirements.
Partner with Amazon Pharmacy’s business teams to coordinate regulatory changes and associated impact.
Collaborate with business teams to design an implementation plan that meets the needs of new laws and regulations.
Track the implementation process to ensure timely completion of projects and perform reviews to ensure projects meet the applicable legal and/or regulatory requirements.
Draft and implement clear and effective compliance documents (e.g., playbooks, policies, procedures, etc.) to ensure the regulatory change management process is outlined from start to finish and understood by all stakeholders.
Present reports to internal leadership on regulatory changes and Amazon Pharmacy’s response.
Attend meetings with regulatory agencies as needed.
Assess current business workflows, identify gaps and propose workflows to remediate or meet

A day in the life
Review meeting minutes, notes, online tools, emails, and other resources to identify new or changed laws or regulations.
Draft detailed written explanations of regulatory changes to be shared with relevant internal stakeholders.
Partner with legal to evaluate new laws and regulatory changes and document impact to Amazon Pharmacy.
Meet with the business to understand current processes and communicate how regulatory change will impact the current business model.
Assist the business in drafting a plan to comply with new laws and regulations.
Monitor and update a tracking system to indicate the status of regulation implementation and the status of the business team’s plan to comply.
Provide reports to leadership so there is understanding of changes in the regulatory landscape and associated business requirements.

The base pay range for this position is $133,300-180,300 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
