- License (or be eligible to become licensed, BSN/RN, PHN) as a Licensed School Nurse from Minnesota Department of Education.
- License as a Registered Nurse from Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Current CPR certification for the Healthcare Professional and current First Aid certification.
- Use flexible thinking and adaptability to address student needs and responds calmly during crisis situations, when necessary.
- Coordinate services and supports with outside providers.
- Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
- Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
- Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
- Experience working with diverse students and families - experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred

Job Summary:
The Sherburne and Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative serves students from our member districts of Becker Public Schools, Big Lake Public Schools, and Monticello School District. Students in our programs have been referred to us by their home districts due to needing extra support not available in the general education setting. Our programs support students with a variety of disabilities including significant social, emotional, and academic learning challenges in grades kindergarten to twelve plus. The School Nurse facilitates and promotes health and safety; intervenes with actual and potential health problems; performs health care assessments and interventions; facilitates the District's compliance with mandatory responsibilities related to health; develops individual health care plans; supports the administration of medication; completes requirements related to Third Party Billing; and collaborates with others professionals to address student health needs.
