The Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove is recruiting for multiple Nurse Clinician 2 (Registered Nurse) positions, to provide direct and indirect care to our residents. The Home is a 24/7/365 long-term care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional medical services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. Our facility is in Racine County, a short drive from Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and other key locations throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Come join our quality nursing team!

Sign-On Bonus of $2000 for eligible employees who agree to remain in the position for one year. The first $1000 will be paid in the employee's first paycheck and the second $1000 will be paid when the employee attains permanent status.

Position Summary


Want to experience the rewards of providing care to Wisconsin veterans?

This professional Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to a mostly geriatric and/or disabled population. WDVA's RNs provide direction to other staff in the provision and coordination of resident care and monitor care given by other health team members on a unit or floor or in a building. All activities are performed in accordance with applicable industry standards of practice, facility policies/procedures, and state and federal rules and regulations.

Salary Information


Starting wage is between $34.41 and $40.58 per hour, depending on years of licensure, with additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Positions at 60% of full-time or greater are eligible for an attractive benefits package.

Sign-on bonus of $2000 for eligible employees.

A $5.00 per hour temporary add-on will be paid for all hours worked in a Nurse Clinician 2 shift, through June 17, 2023.

A $3.00 per hour temporary add-on will be paid for hours worked as a Nurse Clinician 2 between Saturday, 12:00 a.m. and Sunday, 11:59 p.m., through June 17, 2023.

This position is in pay schedule-range 11-02. For current or eligible former State employees, pay on appointment will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan.

This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.

Job Details


Core Shifts Available

AM 1st shift - 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

PM 2nd shift - 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

NOC 3rd shift - 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Nurse Clinician 2 positions work multiple shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Job duties require the ability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.

Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.

Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to any offer of employment.

A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Qualifications


These jobs require licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
