Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a RN to join our pediatric team!

JOB SUMMARY: Provides care to patients using a patient and family-centered model to patients who are newborn up to 18 years of age, to include patient and family education while ensuring adherence to professional standards and IFCH policies, procedures, and guidelines. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with co-workers/physicians/ nurse managers; and communicates about changes in patient’s condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides age-appropriate care that is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patients and their families
• Utilizes the nursing process in the care of pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation as developmentally appropriate.
• Conducts all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the organizations corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings.
• May float to task in other areas other than your normally assigned service area, performing only those duties for which you have demonstrated competency.

• 
  Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current, unencumbered RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS. Successful completion of PALS and ACLS courses are required within 6 months of hire.
• Previous pediatric experience preferred
• Basic computer knowledge and is able to demonstrate understanding of basic computer documentation systems as needed. Has the ability to learn and increase competence regarding the use of patient care equipment (i.e., bedside monitoring system, patient beds, IV pumps, defibrillators and other equipment as indicated by management).
