Registered Dietitian FT/PT

South Setauket, NY

Full-time / Part-time (flex schedule)

South Setauket, NY. Jefferson’s Ferry Life Plan Community is seeking a Registered Dietitian to assist in providing quality food and an enjoyable dining experience for residents, guests, and staff. The Registered Dietitian will develop and implement nutritional care plans that identify the needs of the residents. You will also maintain ongoing communication with physicians, nurses, and other members of interdisciplinary teams regarding nutritional care for the residents.

In addition, you will:

• Evaluate and screen all residents in Assisted Living.
• Maintain and update all assisted living required documentation.
• Perform chart audits.
• Promote better nutrition by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing specific diseases.
• Evaluate, interpret, and implement the prescribed diets for residents.
• Keep up with the latest nutritional science research.

We require:

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition
• Previous experience as a Registered Dietitian in a long-term care/ acute care facility
• Knowledge of special diets and all applicable regulations for long term care and assisted living.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to get along well with others.
• Weekend availability.
