At the Y, kids are able to participate in sports programs that place an emphasis on fun, development of character, and fair play. We believe our youth sports programs helps families and individuals grow personally, clarify values, improve relationships, appreciate diversity, develop leadership skills, and most of all, have fun!

We are looking for a Regional Program Director who is responsible for the supervision of all sports related experiences and activities at the Frisco, Plano, and McKinney YMCAs, and will manage the promotional activities which attract new members/program participants. This position will supervise two full-time Sports Directors at the Cross Timbers and JER Chilton YMCAs and will serve on the Association Youth Sports Leadership team. The incumbent will be asked to support their home branch through support and attendance as needed at board meetings, annual campaign, staff meetings and special events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program growth, participant satisfaction, and program retention.
  • Hiring, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Development and maintenance of budgets.
  • Developing, marketing, implementing and expanding sports programs.
  • This incumbent will have responsibilities with the Annual Campaign.
  • Implementation of all YMCA policies and procedures for risk management/safety for all staff, volunteers and participants.
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the District Executive Director.

The incumbent must have an outgoing personality with the ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships through programs by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect and responsibility with staff, lay leaders, YMCA members and program participants and the general public.

Successful candidates will bring the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or 5 years experience.
  • Experience in supervision, budgeting & program design/management preferred.
  • Incumbent must possess experience working with volunteers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required and an ability to exercise discriminating and independent judgment.

Salary: $55,000 if annualized
