JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to establish and define the responsibilities and authorities of the position of Quality and Standards Manager “QSM”, VitalShred. The VitalShred QSM will be responsible for the governance of all existing and future standards. This includes process standards, documented Operational SOP’s and Service SOP’s, and equipment standards. As VRC continues to grow, it is critical that our sites, vehicles, equipment, and processes are standard across the VitalShred footprint.


ESSESNTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential functions:

  • Development of SOP’s, work instructions and training materials to support the standardization of the VtialShred business.
  • Ensures business units maintain current knowledge of SOPs and operating processes by all employees through reviews, audits and training.
  • Fosters/Drives best practice sharing and benchmarking between markets to driver operational efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Solicit operational improvement ideas from the business, assess the priority of developing/implementing and work with the appropriate VRC departments to deliver the solution.
  • Support rollout and integration of new services, both with existing systems, customers and as part of on boarding new customers.
  • Supports the differentiation between "best practices" and "business rules" and evaluates under what circumstances one is more locally acceptable over the other. For example, local or geographic situations, customer specific situations, site specific, etc.
  • Interact with Customer Care and Sales for maximum operational effectiveness.


Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years of business experience preferably in operations
  • Leader of SOP development and training
  • Ability to identify operational efficiency opportunities and implement these into the business
  • Logistics / Transportation experience a plus
  • If internal, high credibility in the organization, if external, ability to easily win credibility

Job Specific Competencies

Knowledge of practices, behaviors, applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing proper business conduct; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.


Education and Training

Roles at this level require a college degree or comparable business experience.
