The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no cost services to qualifying families who reside in the community. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and their partners and children from birth to 5. Child development, health and family services are provided through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low-income and at-risk families.

We are looking for a Recruiter with full-cycle recruiting experience, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring great employees, preferably in the Pre-K or education field. A successful recruiter will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. You should also be able to attract candidates using various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals. The responsibilities of the Recruiter are to ensure our agency attracts, hires and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline.

will…
- Work in a collaborative environment and foster positive relationships with staff, hiring managers and recruits.
- Coordinate all steps in the recruitment process of new personnel or internal transfers, including onboarding.
- Assist with maintaining personnel files and applicant tracking.
- Maintain compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards, Department of Transportation, and Virginia Licensing.
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/schools, etc.
- Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media, job fairs, etc.
- Screen candidates resumes and job applications
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and aptitudes
- Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
We are most interested in applicants who have…
- Experience working in the human resources field, preferred full-cycle recruiting experience.
- Familiarity of Head Start, Virginia Licensing, and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and are well organized.
- Flexibility with work hours and scheduling, including ability to meet needs of recruits for evening or weekend contacts.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in HR or related field or related experience
- PHR certification or higher preferred
- Proven work experience as a Recruiter (either an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter)
- Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference checks, etc.)
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, tuberculosis screen and drug screen
