Goodhue County is actively recruiting qualified applicants for the Records Support Specialist position in the Sheriff’s Office. The Records Support Specialist is responsible for providing essential administrative support to the Sheriff’s Office and is the first point of contact for visitors to the Goodhue County Law Enforcement Center.
The Records Support Specialist must be an effective communicator—tactfully responding to visitors who may be irate, intoxicated, resistant, difficult or emotionally disturbed. The Records Support Specialist is expected to complete job duties and meet associated deadlines despite frequent interruptions from the public, staff and telephone. The Records Specialist must maintain working knowledge of applicable laws, statutes and changes in Minnesota Offense Codes.
The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Collects and enters data into various software programs; generates necessary reports.
- Transcribes statements for internal clients.
- Collects and receipts monies as well as documents and applications.
- Receives, sorts and distributes mail and packages.
- Provides clerical support for the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office.
- Other duties as assigned.
