Duties

Perform x-rays and EKGs on patients who reside in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities as well as patients under hospice and home health agencies and care programs. Perform general diagnostic x-ray procedures and EKG’s in a mobile environment utilizing state of the art lightweight Canon DR (Direct Radiography) imaging equipment. All Examinations will be performed in accordance with Bio Tech X-Rays company & customer policies & procedures to ensure a safe and quality examination is provided to the patient.

Essential Functions of the Radiologic Technologist:

• Utilize company vehicle, phone and other equipment provided
• Use of digital portable and laptop equipment
• As is customary, we have a 90-day probationary period for all our new employees
• Cover call in an adjoining territory if necessary for staffing reasons
• Respond quickly to all calls
• Prioritize STAT calls
• Provide excellent customer service to all patients
• Perform all general x-ray exams portably
• Communicate effectively with all company staff and staff from all the facilities we serve
• Provide clear concise explanations to the patient, family members, and necessary staff while gaining the cooperation and trust of the patient in stressful and anxious times
• Have and maintain a clean driving record
• Be able to work independently and be self-motivated
• Be able to drive for some long distances as well as in the city
• Maintains supply inventory, anticipating supply need
• Complies with state and federal laws, keeping an active state license and ARRT registered
• Minimizes radiation to the patient and staff by practicing ALARA, radiation protection, proper techniques, using beam restrictive devices, and patient shielding
• Perform and maintain a high level of quality x-ray images
• Document patient history to the radiologist about the exam
• Report any suspected abuse to the Operations Manager or Compliance Officer
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
• Report any vehicle/equipment damage immediately after occurrence to Lead Technologist, Operations Manager, and Compliance Officer

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education: Completion of a Radiologic Technologist program

Experience: 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred but not required

Computer skills: Experience in using computers and data entry, preferably experience in Microsoft programs (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Certificates & Licenses: Must have a WI State Radiologic Technician Certificate and passed the ARRT

Other Requirements: Attention to detail and problem solving. Maintain strict confidentiality, high levels of accuracy, and high levels of productivity. Must have teamwork mentality with the ability to work independently, and prioritize and manage individual projects. Maintain a clean driving record.

Will follow HIPAA guidelines when handling Patient Health Information (PHI)

Radiologic Technologists must be able to drive for extended periods of time and also frequently stand, squat, and bend. The Technologist is expected to frequently walk distances while moving portable equipment, and occasionally lift 10-50 lbs.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily portably, usually in a medical facility or patients’ home. A majority of the position is done traveling to different exam locations, therefore all types of weather conditions and temperatures are a factor in the position
