Cardinal Glass Industries leads the industry in development of energy saving coatings on glass used in residential windows and doors. Cardinal’s 43 manufacturing sites include the production of float, coated, insulated, tempered, and laminated glass. As well as 3 R&D technology centers.
As a member of the Cardinal CG Technology Center, you will be surrounded by a team of creative, enthusiastic, and passionate group of scientist, engineers, and professionals. We are seeking an R&D engineer to join our instrumentation development team who has a passion for problem solving and come up with creative solutions.
You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
- 1-3+ years of experience in AutoCAD or SolidWorks
- Strong mathematics background
- Technical documentation (assembly, alignment, troubleshooting instructions)
- An interest in building, wiring, and working with small electronics
- Self-motivating and curious
Nice To Have
- Strong knowledge of optics
- Experience with COMSOL or other simulation software packages
- Experience will small motion control devices
Main Responsibilities
- Designing parts for machining
- Prototype components with 3D printer
- Prepare detailed drawings for production and assembly
- Be involved in installs of finished designs
- Contribute to the development of new equipment
