We are seeking a full-time
Quality Tester in Olathe, KS on our Marine Products team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the testing of Garmin’s products and software in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Develop an understanding of quality assurance principles and methodologies in performance of essential functions
- Develop knowledge of Garmin product specifications, capabilities and operation related to the market segment being supported
- Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures of simple complexity, in accordance with established Garmin test procedures
- Document defects in a defect management system and report defects to developers
- Collect and analyze test results and beta user feedback (when applicable)
- Investigate and verify issues reported to quality assurance for validity and reproducibility
- Work closely with engineering to assist in problem resolution
- Verify software modifications in new software versions to prepare for implementation
- Assist in test case maintenance as necessary to keep repository current
- Assist in the training of new quality assurance associates
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR equivalent experience
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0)
- Strong technical aptitude
Desired Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Technical certification from two-year college or technical school
- Superior academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Previous work experience executing test cases and reporting results
- Previous experience using or testing devices related to a Garmin core product market
- Comfortable working independently (with minimal supervision) and with a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment
