JOB DESCRIPTION: Quality Inspector

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand, communicate, and enforce Company Safety, Quality and Accountability Program (PASS).
• Inspection of fabricated and welded equipment such as boilers, pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping
• etc. according to applicable Codes, Standards, Customer Specifications and Jurisdictional requirements
• during short term projects such as Outages, Turnarounds and Shutdowns.
• Perform inspections on work as directed.
• Inspect and perform quality testing on materials and manufactured equipment such as vessels, tanks, and piping systems, during construction and maintenance activities.
• Document inspections and ensure that documentation is accurate and timely.
• Review Welding Procedures and Welder Qualifications to verify applicability to projects.
• Provide accurate and timely reports to customer and management as directed.
• Develop positive relationships with customer and regulatory representatives.
• Travel to local and remote job locations is required.
• Maintain and assemble documents for job packages.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have and maintain an AWS CWI Certification.
• 5 or more years industry experience in Power Generations, Boilers, Construction, and Piping, and or Refineries.
• Ability to work unsupervised and be proactive.
• Ability to read and interpret Code and Drawing requirements. (Primarily ASME, Strong B31.3; but also versed in B31.1, SEC I, SEC VIII, Div. 1, and NBIC).
• Ability to read and interpret Welding Procedures and Welder Qualifications.
• Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced, high stress environment.
• Ability to perform QC inspections and determine if work conforms to requirements.
• Ability to create and maintain clean, accurate, organized documentation and reports.
• Must have valid driver’s license and comply with Company driving policy.
• Must comply with Company Drug and Alcohol Policy.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Works in climate-controlled office 25% of the time.
• May work in varying weather: hot, cold, and wet conditions.
• May work in areas with hydrocarbon vapors, fumes, and hazardous chemicals.
• May be exposed to high and continuous levels of noise, vibration, extreme temperature, and hot equipment.
• May be required to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding as well as sit, stand, stoop, bend, and crouch for long periods of time.

Able to read, write, speak & comprehend English fluently

Hearing:

Hearing adequate to perform job duties

Speaking:

Able to communicate clearly in person and over phone

Vision:

Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties as indicated

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $86,957.00 - $113,043.00 per hour
