Job Description
Quality is involved in nearly every aspect at Newhaven Display, this leads to an expanded role with the successful candidate influencing multiple departments.
Our Quality Engineer will focus on product quality improvement activities. The goal is to ensure our quality performance improves far beyond industry standards and increase customer retention by solving and eliminating repeat failure modes.
Responsibilities
Improve the quality of the product portfolio by developing & executing targeted initiatives
- Understand specification and engineering changes and their impact to the portfolio of products.
- Monitor the performance of KPI to recognize areas needing improvement.
- Team with engineering, sourcing, and suppliers to implement corrective actions for specific products and part families.
- Validate the expected improvements within production.
Quality improvements to reduce customer returns
- Perform Failure Analysis on customer returns and reporting as needed.
- Engage with key work partners to implement and resolve corrective actions.
- Create the “lessons learned” for benefit of others to prevent re-occurrence.
Managing and minimizing supplier returns
- Evaluate NCM and associate root cause responsibility for defects.
- Team with suppliers on the return of defects for to resolve issues.
Other quality related duties as typically assigned
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of broad engineering development experiences.
- Ability to read/write schematics and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
- Excellent writing skills as needed for customer communications.
- Superior attention to details.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Bonus points for Green-Belt Quality certification.
