Job summary:

The process engineer will oversee daily operations and ensure the efficiency and efficacy of all processes and procedures, with the primary objective of improving and streamlining workflow and product quality. The ideal candidate for this position is a team player and a motivated problem-solver with an inquiring mind who can produce high-quality work under pressure.

Summary of essential job functions:

  • Lead red tag investigations and present formal process improvement to alleviate related non-conformance
  • Lead corrective action projects. Both internal and customer driven. 8D competency is preferred.
  • Complete PPAP requests such as generating FEMAs, Control Plans, Part Submission Warrants, etc.
  • Customer communication to resolve quality issues.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations
  • Contribute to development of health and safety standards
  • Write reports to document all process changes and quality requirements
  • Clearly communicate ideas and findings to management and colleagues concerning quality issues and improvements.
  • Perform internal quality audits per ISO 9001:2015 standard.
  • Take ownership of the newly implemented 3D scanning process at LPM to ensure process is utilized to its fullest extent.
  • Other duties as assigned

Reportings to this position are:

  • VP/Quality Manager

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Experience with 8D corrective action initiation and completion thereof.
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T
  • 3D Scanning and familiarity with Creaform hardware and Polyworks software a plus
  • Process knowledge of machining, welding, laser cutting, punching, stamping, forming, packaging, etc.
  • Work well with constant changing priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Accurate mathematical calculation skills
  • Analysis and Planning – Informed decision maker
  • Customer driven focus - dependable and able to meet and exceed delivery schedules
  • Collaboration and teamwork to deliver results
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Lean Tools – 5-S, process flow, process mapping, PDCA, error proofing, standardized work
  • Internal audit training to ISO 9001:2015
  • Familiarity with quality measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, etc.
  • Job Boss / ERP working knowledge is a plus

Minimum requirements:

Minimum education requirement is a Bachelor’s degree. At least three years of automotive, appliance, medical, or similar industry experience is preferred.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
