Job Title: Quality Engineer

Reports to: Quality Manager

Work Location: Eastlake, OH

This position is responsible for optimizing efforts in safety, quality, and productivity using engineering principles and analytical techniques to advance continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and products. Improve manufacturing processes by designing quality standards, leading the implementation of control programs and determining corrective/preventative actions for all departments (CNC, Fabrication and Assembly). Project management and monitoring and analyzing quality performance across the operations.

Responsibilities:

• Support of daily production meetings, working closely with production team to drive all quality improvement actions across fabrication, CNC, & assembly
• Analyze root causes, map processes, and propose & implement corrective actions
• Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives while sharing best practices across departments or multiple sites
• Invent new ideas and systems to reduce the cost of manufacturing of musical instruments/components and assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles
• Assists in the maintenance and control of gauges and fixtures
• Ability to use Minitab and SPC software for product control and processing stability
• Evaluate and solve or assist with evaluating day-to-day problems involved with Total Quality Management
• Technical floor support
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or a minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
• Self-directed, results driven team player with the ability to work well with different departments
• Knowledgeable PC user with Minitab experience
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience a plus
• Familiar with quality engineering/manufacturing tools and terms
• Metallurgical background a plus
• People oriented with good written and verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Normal office and plant floor environment
