NTS has an opportunity for an experienced quality professional to join its team as an Americas Business Unit Quality Director supporting laboratory quality oversight across the NTS Labs business unit (15-20 test labs). Reporting to the Business Unit Vice President, you are an essential member of the leadership team who will drive a culture of quality and improvement focused on compliance, maturity, strategy, and performance within the business unit. This role works closely with a wide community of laboratory general managers, quality leaders and operational / technical colleagues.
JOB SUMMARY:
This oversight includes ensuring lab compliance to our Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory agencies, strategy development and objective setting, workforce inspiration and development, driving initiatives such as effective accreditations/approvals management, First Time Right (FTR) performance, standardization of processes, risk mitigation, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) maturity, managing and performing corporate level internal audits, coaching/mentorship, development of customer and regulatory agency relationships and new approvals readiness.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years in a quality management or quality director role experience, with clear evidence of building and leading successful teams
- The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 17025, ISO 9001) and experience with aerospace, space, defense, and/or transportation industry. Product qualification testing is desirable.
- Must have NADCAP and or 17025 and or AS9100
- Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at industry events and in customers meetings.
- Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time; overnight travel is required
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualifications and experience), preferably in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline but Quality Related with be considered
- Ability to objectively interpret regulatory, technical instructions, drawings, data and details furnished in written, oral and/or diagram format
- Strong auditing skills promoting compliance, confidence, and maturity of the team
- Ability to quickly gain the trust and respect of colleagues, clients, and senior leadership within the company

Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
