Position Summary

We are a growing consulting firm looking for a Quality Control Specialist. This position will assist in one or more programs that provide temporary housing and temporary or permanent repairs to damaged homes in the recovery from Hurricane Ian. This position represents an exceptional opportunity to join an expert team to facilitate change and help make a lasting difference. The Quality Control Specialist reports to the inspections Team Lead. Quality Control Specialist is responsible for meeting file review goals and deadlines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include

  • Reports to the Inspections Team Lead
  • Review Site Inspection Reports submitted by the Vendors to validate compliance with program guidelines.
  • Review Scopes of Work and Change Orders submitted by vendors to validate cost reasonableness and compliance with program guidelines and quality standards.
  • Identify trends within deliverables and coordinate with the Team Lead to provide follow up training as needed
  • Identify items that require resolution in order to move a case forward. Troubleshoot these items, in collaboration with other team members, to develop appropriate and timely solutions.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide status updates.
  • Adhere to established program guidelines, standard operating procedures and documentation standards, within required time frames.
  • Adhere to department and company guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work in other programs such as Smartsheets and Program Databases
  • Ability to evaluate completeness and quality of deliverables submitted in a timely manner


Preferred:

  • A technical background, prior experience performing quality control/quality assurance, and/or experience performing field inspections is preferred. Additional relevant experience may be considered.
  • Prior experience in project management, residential/housing, and/or disaster recovery/mitigation (CDBG-DR or FEMA Programs) is an asset, although not required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field; OR,
  • At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field (ex. quality control/assurance, field inspections)
