Quality Control Manager

Job Responsibilities and Expectations

Primary Objective: Overseeing the ASME/NBIC Quality Control Program for all production and service activities including those relating to production, repairs, alterations, and refurbishment.

Safety

• Maintain safety awareness and compliance at all times.
• Ensure equipment continually meets all federal OSHA standards.
• Assist Operations Manager in compliance to Safety Program.

ASME/NBIC

• Oversee the Quality Control Program at (2) Powerhouse locations in Delanco, NJ and Gastonia, NC. Each shop is currently holds the Certificate of Authorization for the ASME S Stamp and the NBIC R Stamp.
• Participate in tri-annual review of ASME/NBIC stamp certifications in both locations.
• Prepare required documentation for all new builds, shop service work, and field service work.
• Partner with the Engineering department to review all shop fabrication drawings, calculations, and materials before they are released for the job.
• Maintain compliance to ASME weld procedures and train shop foreman and your direct reports in QC measurements, weld procedures, materials traceability and all other ASME/NBIC documentation requirements including shop traveler generation and various different data reports that our activities require.
• Monitor weld procedures and welder qualification in accordance with ASME Section IX and the Powerhouse QCM.
• Maintain communication with AI and any third party inspection companies.
• Properly track material for code compliance in accordance with ASME, NBIC, and the Powerhouse QCM.
• Inspect sub-assemblies and assemblies at designated points of the manufacturing, repair, or alteration process for ASME/NBIC hold points. Schedule additional testing as required per the ASME/NBIC code both on-site at Powerhouse facilities and off-site at customer facilities.
• Maintain proper quality records of all completed Service Orders packets.

Rental Fleet Quality

Quality Control Manager responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

• Oversight of rental fleet turnaround quality to ensure compliance with Powerhouse guidelines.
• Ensure all checklists are completed and equipment is up to Powerhouse standards.

Shop/Field Service

Quality Engineer responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

• Work with Service Manager to ensure quality of service work completed.
• Keep Service Manager informed of qualification status for all code welders.
• Be the first line of engineering support for shop and field service activities.

Qualifications:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field
• 3+ years of experience working with ASME/NBIC Quality Programs
• 5+ years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, welding, or pipefitting
• In depth knowledge of ASME and NBIC Codes (Especially Sections I, IV, VIII, and IX)
• Knowledge of the various NDT types and requirements
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, weld symbols, and finish callouts
• Ability to use measurement instruments including pressure gauges, calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, and other devices
• Proficient in relevant software - must be highly proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
• Ability to visually inspect and diagnose weld quality and flaws
• Highly organized and able to communicate with personnel of all types
