Position includes a $2000 sign on bonus (after completion of 90 days employment). Medical, Dental and vision ins effective day one. Competitive 401k and several other benefits offered.
Responsible for technical leadership and development of quality control and inspection resources in support of business needs as well as all aspects of the company quality control function.
Major Duties
- Provide mentoring and leadership for existing and new inspectors
- Prioritize inspection workflow based on customer delivery dates.
- Interpret print requirements to include (but not limited to) material specifications, surface finishes, surface treatments, heat treating, hardness, functional requirements, marking, basic dimensioning and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Develop CMM programs or Vision system programs; design associated inspection fixtures.
- Provide training and technical assistance to inspection and production personnel regarding inspection methods, use of inspection equipment, and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Interface directly with vendors and customers to provide technical assistance regarding quality related issues and determine appropriate dispositions.
- Assist with the disposition of nonconforming product, including returns, and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
- Participate in Contract Review and Product Realization process to assure compliance with customer requirements as documented in supplier agreements, procedures, and work instructions.
- Participate in corrective actions including investigation, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive action plans.
- Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities and initiatives in areas of responsibility.
- Work with others in Quality to investigate, review, and recommend latest inspection tools and technologies to ensure competitive advantage.
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives in quality control function.
- Provide Quality Engineering support to Manufacturing personnel with respect to trouble shooting during set-up and production.
- Manage and monitor the customer complaint process, including Return Material Authorizations (RMA) and returned product.
- Arrange and oversee Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies.
- Administer the gaging and calibration system; schedule and support calibration activities.
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), In-process and Final Inspection, as needed.
- Perform a variety of tasks or other duties, as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent
- 3+ years related experience required.
- ASQ Certification preferred.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.
- Strong leadership
- Strong CMM programming, Vision System programming.
- Strong background with machined component drawings and GD&T.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and
- Proficient at data collection, analysis, and
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office application
