POSITION SUMMARY
In this position reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the quality department, this will include special projects and may at times require a shift in priorities. In this position you may be required to support other areas of the facility as needed.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Manages and maintains ISO9001 quality system to include audit requirements necessary in maintaining certification in support of company continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintains oversight of completed work in accordance with quality standards.
- Obtains, analyzes, and coordinates corrective actions on identified deviations from quality standards.
- Effectively communicates relevant information to the management team.
- Works with HR in overseeing the training program to ensure standards are met.
- Coordinates External Audits with an official registrar company.
- Coordinates with customer service team for customer quality related issues and concerns via email or through designated channels.
- Strives for continuous improvement in overall defect-reduction, monitors defect-reduction procedure effectiveness, and implements solutions to effect needed change.
- Ensures that supplier quality problems are investigated, trends are tracked, and issues resolved in a timely manner to ensure material quality standards are maintained.
- Keeps accurate documentation of all processes and procedures.
- Directs quality team in working with other departments to troubleshoot or identify root cause findings that affect processes on the production floor.
- Participates in the review of all design, manufacturing, purchasing, and test documentation procedures to ensure that new and existing customers' quality standards are maintained.
- Establishes and tracks departmental goals and objectives.
- Analyzes data to detect deviations from the standards.
- Assesses need and selects and develops staff within area of responsibility.
- Ensure team members are actively managed, motivated and trained. Provides annual feedback on team member performance to target individual development opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED
- Bachelors degree in business, engineering or manufacturing fields with 3-5 yrs of experience. 5-7 yrs of relatable industry experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Proven experience as Quality Leader with ISO experience
- ASQ and/or Six Sigma Certification preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience, skills and responsibilities is required.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Knowledge of ERP software and programs.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Possess an aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting using RCA methodologies.
- Experience with weld fabrication and open cast molding a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Outstanding organizational and management skills.
- Familiarity with build to order planning systems helpful.
- Must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills; ability to work with others efficiently and effectively both one-on-one and as a part of a team/group.
- Internal/External Auditing experience a plus.

- Ability to lift 50lbs, mechanical assist or help of a team member is generally available
