Job Summary:
The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will be responsible to support day-to-day software development activities including the preparation and execution of all testing within a release cycle. This will include driving new development, enhancements, and bug/fixes to achieve product functionality. This role will require the individual to work closely and efficiently with QA team members, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Developers, and other Stakeholders. The Sr. QA Analyst demonstrates a proficiency in discovering and solving complex functional and technical problems and effectively communicates all areas of testing results to senior management and stakeholders, while continuously seeking to improve team efficiency, drive process improvements, and facilitate technical solutions in key areas to mitigate risk. The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will be responsible to support day-to-day software development activities including the preparation and execution of all testing within a release cycle. - This is a hybrid role that reports into the Dallas Office 3 days per week and WFH 2 days per week. Days are TBD.
- Develop effective test strategies, test plans, functional/regression/integration test cases and test execution for complex solutions including reviewing test results.
- Executes all functional tests according to test plans and scripts, document results, and quickly identifies and troubleshoots issues
- Communicates effectively on a regular basis to team members, senior management, and stakeholders articulating testing and risk mitigation strategies to gain support and approval
- Assists in the development of new, innovative, or streamlined processes and continuously drives improvements across projects and the QA team
- Partners with management and vendors to establish application product testing goals, strategies, and strategic plans
- Develop application testing project plans, estimates, timelines, and status reporting
- Gathers and presents key metrics and insights to Senior Management and Stakeholders
- Manage project workloads, schedules, scope, and deadlines to eliminate constraints and ensure customer needs and project metrics are met.
- Appropriately escalates any issues within the project or existing product, raising defects and conducting root cause analysis
- Participate in all phases of the Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC), partnering with appropriate groups to determine level of testing needed prior to implementation of project deliverables.
- Executes all scoped testing, leveraging appropriate testing tools and processes within a release cycle to meet deadlines
- Enables the product and project teams to operate at the highest functional quality before moving to the next testing phase.
- Continuously drives QA processes, best practices, and software tool usage
- Continues to grow technology and software skills based on organizational needs and changes in the market
- Trains and leads other QA analysts in best quality management practices as well as growing technology and software development skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or combination of experience and education required.Minimum of 6-8 years of Quality Assurance experience in information technology
- Excellent PC skills, including all applications within Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with various types of testing and tools such as Microsoft and Azure products, API testing, Selenium automation, and SQL databases
- Displays excellent time management, organizational, and complex problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills; the ability to lead a team to consensus.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies further developing skills
- Experience testing across multiple platforms, including desktop, cloud, web and mobile
- Ability to demonstrate excellent detail orientation, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and in a fast-paced environment
- Deep understanding and ability to apply various software development life cycle processes and methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
- Strong presentation skills in both a technical and non-technical perspective to management; is clear, concise, and formulates a message to fit the audience
- Familiarity with testing HCM systems (e.g., HR software applications), mortgage application systems, banking software, or financial technologies
