Responsibilities
- Train team to and assist in performing activities of team members.
- Interpret company policies to team members and enforce safety and GMP regulations/requirements
- Ensure implementation of policies and procedures by team members
- Analyze and resolve issues, and assist team members in solving issues.
- Effectively communicate with direct reports, production staff, and management.
- Inspect product to verify conformance to specifications, direct setups and adjustments of machines.
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring accuracy of required reports and documentation (breach log, etc.)
- Establish or adjust team's work loads to meet production schedules/needs.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Responsible for monitoring all quality material inventory.
- Responsible for assisting in monitoring corrective and preventative measures
- Responsible for assisting in complaint investigations and compiling return reports
- Responsible for assisting in employee performance reviews and schedules.
- Responsible for serving as back up to Quality Supervisor(s) regarding Food Safety.
- Responsible for back-up as needed to all quality, sanitation, tank room positions and production as needed.
- Consults with Quality Managers and Supervisors to resolve quality issues.
- Responsible for assisting with new hire training and cross trainings.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing quality experience, preference in water and flavored beverages
- Must be able to read various measuring instruments (ounces, grams, PH meters, conductivity meters, etc.).
- Must be able to maintain laboratory pumps and instruments i.e. calibrate, verify and service.
- Knowledge of basic water chemistry a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds minimum.
- Copious walking and standing required.
- Must have excellent oral, written, organizational, and communication skills.
- Must be detailed oriented and energetic.
- Must be a self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.
- Must be forklift certified; ideally with minimum 2 years experience
- Must be detail oriented, a team leader, and teacher.
- Computer experience or ability to learn quickly is a must.
- Supervisory experience a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a science is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, food safety, cGMPs, and SQF are strongly preferred.
