Seeking a Quality Control Chemist for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Cincinnati, OH!

This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k!

Salary is between $55,000 - $60,000 per year (based on experience)

In this role you will make sure that products meet or exceeds specifications before shipment. Let Production know of any out of specification results, so product can be brought into specification if possible and keep process production running, by providing accurate results in a timely manner

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including wet chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis to make sure products meet specifications, must have HPLC / UPLC experience
  • Develop methods of analysis for new products or existing products on new equipment
  • Verify that methods are accurate and are consistent with FDA results
  • Research and write up AR justifications for procuring equipment
  • Maintain equipment in the lab, perform PMs, and service or call for service as needed
  • Oversee that all calibrations and checks are done as needed on equipment and methods
  • Order lab supplies and put in work orders as needed
  • Responsible for writing/updating analytical cards and Lab Operating Procedures.
  • Conform to safe laboratory practices in accordance with Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Plant requirements and regulations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of testing procedures, protocols, and priorities for two production areas. Following laboratory operating procedures
  • Enter data into spreadsheets, perform housekeeping duties stocking levels for laboratory chemicals
  • Recognize and report any food safety issues
  • Good Communication, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work overtime and on weekends
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree of applied science or Chemistry
  • Analytical background in various techniques including UPLC / HPLC experience required, Spectro photometer, Ion chromatography metals analysis
  • Basic math skills
  • PC literacy
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be a self-starter with a “can-do attitude” that can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Good housekeeping and organization skills
  • Must work well with others
